Four-day seminar on small airport operations in city

Airports Council International, Asia-Pacific, is organising a four-day seminar here which will address concerns and interests of small airport operations.  The seminar, to be held from November 7 till November 10, is the first of its kind to be held after formation of Small Airports Network by the Airports Council International (ACI), Asia-Pacific. It will be hosted by GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd, a GMR press release said.

 The theme of the seminar is 'Re-engineering Airport Economics' and it will address the common concerns and interests of small airport operations, besides evaluating the needs, challenges, latest developments and outlook of the industry, it said.
 The event will deliberate on various topics such as regulatory and finance, economic expectations of stakeholders, economic growth at airports through cargo traffic, non-aero innovations: attaining economic freedom, attracting airlines to airports.
 The organising committee has exerted tremendous effort to ensure the needs, challenges, latest developments and outlook of the industry are addressed at this event, said Patti Chau, Regional Director of ACI Asia-Pacific.
 The seminar is especially important to our small airports as it is a very useful platform for our members to address common concerns and interests in small airport operations. I look forward to meet our participants in Hyderabad for this event, Chau said.
 DGCA Director General Arun Mishra is expected to deliver the inaugural address during the function to be held on November 8.
 The delegates will make use of unique, all in one opportunity in this Aviation Extravaganza, said P S Nair, Chairman, Small Airports Network (SAN), ACI Asia-Pacific and CEO-corporate Airport Sector, GMR Airports.
