Controversial film : A Woman in Bramhanism receives ban ruling

The committee which was appointed to watch the movie 'A woman in Braamminism' has recommended a ban on the movie.

The chairperson of the committee, Nilam Sawhney, principal secretary, women and child welfare department, had watched the film along with eight other members on November 5 and felt that there was a lot of obscenity and vulgarity in it.
The committee also felt that since the movie would hurt the sentiments of the Brahmin community, it should not be released.
The committee report was sent to the government by the member-convener RV Chandravan, who is the managing director of the AP Film, TV and Theatre Development Corporation, and by the commissioner of the information and public relations department.
